New Dad Gifts for the Geeky New Father

Filed under: Parenting — Tags: — admin @ 7:40 pm

Even the geekiest men usually become fathers. Heck, geeks are even becoming cool these days, thanks to guys like Bill Gates and shows like “The Big Bang Theory”. If your favorite geek has just become a father, here are some fun new dad gifts especially for him:

The new father will probably enjoy reading to the baby. The geeky dad is much more likely to use his iPad to read to the baby. There’s a perfect gift for that dad: the book “Goodnight, iPad”. It’s a hilarious take-off on the iconic “Goodnight, Moon” book that has been around for so many years.

For the Trekkie new dad, consider getting a Star Trek Feeding System for the baby. It’s a futuristic baby bib that lights up and is decorated with Star Trek icons to ensure that the new dad enjoys feeding the baby. The best part is the USS Enterprise-shaped baby spoon – the new father is bound to get a kick out of that!

Having Fun and Playing Dress Up Games

Filed under: Parenting — Tags: — admin @ 4:56 pm

dress up games for girlsDo you remember your childhood? Looking forward to the coming of a birthday or Santa delivering present s was the only concern. It was all smiles and fun in those days and no difficult hardships.

It is indeed fun to be a kid, have fun and play dress up games for girls, but once grown it is over and there is no use wanting to be young again. No matter how much we desire it, those days are over. As I thought about being a kid I remembered the year my dad stopped buying me toys and I graduated to books. These books, like those in the Ladybird series, took me to far away places and brought imagination and creativity to bear. No matter the book series, even those with Harry Potter,I would think about distant and fun places I would like to go. When my friends came over it was time for more fun. We would spend time playing all sorts of dress up games and pretend we were characters from books or television.

He/she must be able to advice you on what to do when it comes to marital possessions and child custody concerns. Guiding you with regards to your bank account, credit cards, and conjugal properties such as house and vehicles is also the responsibility of your lawyer. The Attraction of Photo Booth Hire

Filed under: Parenting — Tags: — admin @ 10:38 am

Original Watercolor orderMy husband always said that until he discovered the bouncy castle hire liverpool service, getting good photos taken of guests used to be as hard as herding cats. For some reason people will avoid a person walking around with a camera, out of fear of not looking their best. Put a photo booth near them however, and they will flock to it in order to take photos where they pull all kinds of funny faces. While the logic escapes me there is no disputing the facts and this has made one of these booths a permanent fixture at all our functions. Keeping the guests entertained and providing them with photos of the event is priceless and since the host receives a DVD with all the snaps of the evening there is no need to hire a photographer either. All of this combined makes it the perfect choice for just about any function that you want guests to enjoy and remember.

What to Do when You Have a Finicky Child

Filed under: Parenting — Tags: — admin @ 11:34 pm

Child's Gift PackageIf you have a finicky child, you should know that you’re not alone. There are many parents who deal with the same challenges as you do with your own children, its just they may not be talking about it. But before you turn to desperation, you should know there are many ways to make a finicky child behave.

First you can do some research on how other parents are handling it. You may want to see a counselor if necessary, but that should never be your first choice. Despite popular opinion in the behavioral science clinical world, in the real world, telling a kid they have to see a counselor (a stranger) is like telling them there’s something wrong with them. There isn’t. They are just kids.

Check out some popular websites and ask friends if they are finding any challenges with their young children. You may find solace and answers in the comfort of your own friends and family.

I Have Learned My Lesson

Filed under: Parenting — Tags: — admin @ 5:23 am

I was pretty embarrassed when I had to go to court to face DUI charges. I didn’t intentionally drive while under the influence. I was at a party and I only had a few glasses of wine. I thought that I was okay since I waited a while to leave, but I was not aware that the alcohol content in the wine was pretty high. That meant that the police were right to pull me over even though I thought I was doing the right thing. The judge must have felt this too because he ordered me to take 12 hour level 2 alcohol awareness classes. I actually learned a good bit through these classes and I know I will never make that mistake again. I just hope that my friends and family members will remember what happened to me since there are a lot of social drinkers in my circle.

That’s right! Printable to do lists are an essential part of staying organized in this crazy world we call parenthood. How on earth would we every stay organized, uber prepared and ultra efficient mommies that everyone else is jealous of without our to do lists? I mean, making lists is a talent that they should teach everyone before checking out of the hospital with your newborn. You know, like they have lactation consultants come around to each room to make sure those moms that want to breast feed know how? They should have people come around and show you how to be efficient, how to make a list. List makers. Awesome!

They could carry yet another free duffel bag for you to take home filled with printable to do lists of every kind and type imaginable. And, then explain the hows, whys and why nots of various list making techniques. Love it! Calling my local hospital now to put forth the suggestion. LOL
