It was three month’s into the wedding of a friend. They almost had everything in their checklist covered when they realized that they still have not found a way to find cheap printing services for their wedding invitations. They called me up for help in finding a printing press that offered cheap digital printing services because they know that I have connections when it comes to that area.
I am a graphic artist who does brochures, flyers, and other graphic works. Because of my business, I know where to find cheap brochure printing services and other kinds of printing services. Usually, the places that print brochures are also the places that offer wedding invitation printing.
The bride to be is a close friend so I agreed to find a printing shop that offers cheap prints. I also offered to do the layout of their wedding invitation as a gift to them. My friend was very happy with the offer and because she was pressed with time, she immediately said yes.
I worked on her invitation for a night. The couple is both in the magazine industry. My friend is a writer for a travel magazine while her fiancé is a managing editor of a technology magazine. Since they both are connected to the magazine industry, I designed their invitation to look like a mini magazine.
When I showed them the printed invitation sample they were very happy with it. I then went to the printing press and ordered a bunch of invites to be printed so they can be sent to the guests as soon as possible.
The guests who received the invitation liked it so much also that design inquiries came my way. At the wedding, two couples approached me and asked if I would design their invitation also. I even clinched a project because of the invitation that I made.
